December, 2012

This is a very festive time of year.  Parties are happening every where with family. friends and co-workers.  Well the Peace by Piece quilters are going to get in on the party fun by having a pot luck.  We had a pot luck last December and the volunteers at the November bee decided to have one again this year.  So bring one of your favorite dishes to share with the other volunteers.

Twenty-two dedicated volunteers attended the November Peace by Piece Quilters bee.  At the end of the day they had completed 30 quilts and 29 tops.  Our raffles raised $45 dollars and we received a private donation of $25 from Dawn F. to go towards our batting fund.  We are getting very close to the amount we hoped to raise in the ott light raffle.  This is a floor ott lamp with a magnifier that would make a great addition to any room of your home where you do hand work.  It will be displayed at the bee for you to try out.  Don't delay in purchasing your raffle opportunity to own this great lamp.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Here's a tip I use all the time to help me keep fabric from shifting when doing all sorts of things like cutting, tracing a pattern or pinning.  I use dressmaker weights.  Back in the day when I made garments I used these to hold my pattern in place instead of pins.  A pictures is worth a thousand words so here ya are.  I think I purchased these at JoAnns.

Learned from dear ol' mom...

My mother taught me MORE LOGIC  "If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."
